Next up in the line of education boards in the country to declare their results is the Uttar Pradesh board of examination. Better known as the UP board, it declared its results on 15th May on its website. According to the director of the board, Amarnath Verma, as usual, the girls performed way better than the boys. While 92.46% of the girls passed the exam, the pass percentage, as recorded among the boys was a meager 84.35%.
The results can be accessed from the official website of the board. The top three positions were all held by girls. While Sakshi Verma, a student of Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Inter College in Barabanki was the board topper with 98.2% marks, the second position was held by Pratima Singh and Sonali Verma jointly with 98% marks. All the three toppers belong to the same school.
The third rank was jointly held by Divyanshi and Prerna Verma with a score of 97.8%. While Divyanshi belongs to Mahendra Neelam Inter College, Tirwa, Kannau, Prerna studied in Barabanki's Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Inter College.
According to the officials, as many as 29,17,268 students appeared in the UP 12th board examination, including 16,12,756 boys and 13,04,512 girls. Of the total students who wrote the examination, UP Class 12th results witnessed only 25,66,772 successful candidates.
