An inspiring story of ultra marathon runner, Samantha Gash from
Australia. She ran across India just to raise funds for children’s education.
The experience she has had not only helped her to understand
things better on the grass root level at the same time inspired her to write a
book about diversity of India.
Samanatha, 31 year old ultra marathon runner started her journey
from Jaislemer on 22nd August’2016 in Rajasthan. Covering a distance
of 3800 Kms, she finished her long and beautiful journey in Shillong on 5th
November’2016.
Speaking to the press Samantha said “It was an incredible
and eye opener experience. India is so diverse and the climate, culture and the
geography keep on changing. It was like running across many countries”.
“It took me 76 days to complete the challenge. “My experiences
crossing the mountains and deserts have been amazing. It was pretty safe for me”.
She added.
During the challenge Samantha ran a campaign for an NGO World
Vision. World Vision is a project that helps in controlling barriers to
education.
“I used to wake up at 4 am everyday and within 45 minutes I
used to hit the roads. After a brief warm I used to run 50-60 Kms per day”
added Samantha.
Samantha hopes she was able to inspire others as individuals’
have the power to change.
