From July this year, UGC NET exam again will be conducted biannually and three paper format will be replaced by the new two paper format.
The cut-age for the candidates applying for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) has also been increased to 30 years and the total duration of the exam has been changed to three hours instead of five and half hours.
The first NET exam is scheduled for July 8, 2018 and will be conducted by the CBSE to select the candidates for professors and JRFs.
According to the new exam pattern, paper 1 will test the candidate's teaching abilities, aptitude and approach of candidates towards engaging students and 60 minutes will be given to the candidate to attempt 50 questions.
In second paper, candidates will have to attempt 100 questions in two hours.
