The North Eastern state of Tripura had some great news coming its way. According to a minister, it has been confirmed that the state Government of Tripura would established distinct Universities for the state apart from the already existing central University in the state.
Tripura's Minister of Higher Education, Tapan Chakraborty was quoted saying, "We have prepared the State University bill to set up a state university. It would be tabled in the meeting of the council of ministers to be held on January 7 for its finalization. The same bill would be placed in the winter session of the state assembly beginning in February and if passed, the university would be set up".
According to him, the academic session might commence from July 2015.
He further added that all prerequisite infrastructures were in place and the University would begin its operations by affiliating 4 colleges of the state capital.
While answering a question, the minister remarked that there would not be any conflicts about the college affiliations between the state's central University and the newly planned University.
