In an attempt to boost the academic relations, Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and Macquarie University, Australia signed a MoU on Friday, November 17, 2017.
The key-research areas for collaboration recognized by both universities are:
- Bio-medical engineering (imaging, sensing and instrumentation)
- Telecommunications (wireless technologies, networking, optical devices and communication MIMO systems and satellite communication)
- Mechatronics and robotics
- Power electronics
- Water and environmental science
On behalf of IIT Ropar, Director of the institute, Prof S.K Das said, "It is an honour for us to have associated with Macquarie University. This MoU will help grow in the academic front as well as research collaborations. We look forward to a great journey ahead."
Speaking about the agreement, Prof Barbara Messerle, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University, Australia said, "The agreement between Macquarie and IIT Ropar will serve to be a great example of the collaborative co-operation that is possible between international institutions. With this strategic partnership in place, we believe that both institutions will benefit greatly, and will allow the creation of new ideas, lead to further innovation in science and technology, and encourage students to broaden their horizons."
