Examinations in Bihar have been infamous for the frequent incidents of cheating. A number of news stories have highlighted this menace in the past as well. Now, with an aim of correcting it, the state government is planning to introduce bar coding in the answer sheets of the candidates appearing for the plus two examination in the year 2017. The move comes after its successful implementation in the compartment as well as the matriculation exam at the 12th level.
Apart from bar coding of the answer sheets, the BSEB (Bihar Secondary Education Board) has also taken steps such as making a Whatsapp group where the incidents of cheating in the exams can be directly reported from the centre itself.
Anand Kishore, the Chairman of BSEB had a video conference
with all the district officials and asked them to ensure that no incidents of
cheating occur in the process. The plus two examination in the state would
begin on the 14th February and would go on till 25th
February. An official statement from the board said, "Bar coding of answer sheets have been planned in plus two
examination 2017 seeing its success in matriculation exam and compartment exam
of the 12th level."
As per the board’s chairman, the bar coding on the sheets would be done similar to the exercise conducted during the elections. The officials would also do videography of all the areas lying near the boundary wells of the examination centres.
