As the demand for highly skilled English-language professionals increases throughout India, ETS will host a series of professional development workshops for teachers offering an in-depth look at the TOEFL iBT "® test, the most widely accepted English-language assessment. Designed specifically for English-language instructors, the workshops offer hands-on, innovative strategies to familiarize teachers with the TOEFL iBT test and strategies to build an engaging curriculum to effectively prepare students for the test.
The one-day workshops are scheduled for:
- May 18 at The Monarch Luxur Hotel, Bangalore
- May 19 at The Monarch Luxur Hotel, Bangalore
- June 9 at the Fortune Select Global Hotel, Delhi
- June 30 at the Grand Sarovar Premiere Hotel, Goregaon, Mumbai
The Propell "® workshops will provide an extensive review of the TOEFL test while offering educators a platform to discuss successes and challenges in advancing English-language skills for students. Led by an ETS-approved trainer, and based on the integrated-skills approach, the workshops will include:
a comprehensive overview of the TOEFL iBT test
a detailed review of the scoring guidelines for the Writing and Speaking sections of the TOEFL iBT test
practice in scoring sample test-taker responses
an engaging discussion on practical applications to guide classroom instruction
"For the third consecutive year, the Propell workshops offer English-language teachers throughout India an in-depth look at the TOEFL test and an opportunity to exchange best practices that are effective in the classroom," commented Teresa Sanchez-Lazer, Executive Director of the TOEFL Program. "The workshops offer a venue for English-language professionals to develop an ongoing community of learners to strengthen teaching practices throughout India."
Registration for each workshop will begin at 9:15 a.m. The sessions will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 6:00 p.m. More information regarding the upcoming Propell workshops, including registration, can be obtained by emailing ets@studyplaces.com.
