The renowned super-30, run by Mathematician Anand Kumar, was named by a Japanese media school as one of the top 3 pioneering education based initiatives.
The other 2 initiatives to be named in the list are the educational club in Japan, which aids the education of children belonging to the lower and middle class, and the France based reading and writing club. This French club works to reverse the trend of fast slipping education standards in the country.
These initiatives were shortlisted by the Japanese media group, Aashi Shinbin.
According to the group, the founder of super 30, Anand Kumar, failed to join the Cambridge University despite being offered the admission, because of financial constraints. But this inspired him to open super 30 and education the children coming from the lowest rung of the society.
When asked about his reaction, Anand said "It gives pleasure and inspiration that people across the globe are concerned with poor and are eager to contribute,"
