A plan was asked to be prepared by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra to bring Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur Universities among the top in the worldwide ranking. Today an official of the CM's Office (CMO) said that it is mandatory for the students to link their accounts with their Aadhar card to utilize the advantage such as scholarships. Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that to avail different scholarships and other benefits of students, it is essential for them to make Aadhaar linkage of their accounts and a plan was asked to be made by the officials to bring the University of Mumbai, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Nagpur University among the top in global positions.
Departments of Primary and Secondary Education, Higher and Technical Education and Social Justice were reviewed by the CM Fadnavis with ministers Vinod Tawde, Ravindra Waikar, Dilip Kamble regarding the progress of Key Result Areas (KRAs) at three different meetings. Biometric attendance was made compulsory for all local body and aided schools to bring all transactions on the digital mode.This was informed by the official and secretaries of various departments who attended these meetings. The target of making 33,000 schools digital and of bringing 100 per cent learning outcome this year was also asked to be completed.
The progress of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Entrepreneurship Scheme which provides the moisture security to SC farmers was also reviewed by Fadnavis. By March 17, 2017 the officials were asked to prepare a policy for the physically challenged and senior citizens to provide them with various facilities.He asked to restrict school dropout rates of girl students to less than 5 per cent and to develop a child tracking system, biometric attendance and digitization for government and aided schools were some of the key result areas (KRA) set by the state education department to be set and implemented.
