During its third iteration of the Student Visa Day, the US Embassy opened its doors for more than 4000 Indian students who wish to apply for the visa the pursue higher studies in the United States. The main of the event is to boost the ties between the two countries in the field of higher education.
“Today, every sixth international student in the United States is from India, and these students are contributing enormously to every aspect of life at the university and in the surrounding communities,” said Embassy Charge dʼAffaires MaryKay Carlson.
At present there are about 1,66,000 Indian students which are enrolled in various US institutions of higher education and the new students were welcomed by the US Embassy and the consulates in a very festive manner.
The consular staff members from various universities and colleges of the US were dressed in the alma mater apparel and some consulates even had the alumni guest speakers with them while others made it possible through video station.
Representatives from EducationUSA, American Spaces along with the recent US graduates were present to give the applicants insights about the college life in the US and to answer their queries regarding living and studying in the US.
