SEBI is expanding its education initiative NISM (National
Institute of Securities Markets). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate
the new campus of NISM at Patalganga near Mumbai on December 24th
2016.
Presently NISM operates from its campus at Vashi, Mumbai,
but the existing infrastructure is not adequate to support the growing
requirements of the institute.
The new NISM campus would be spread over 70 acres at
Patalganga. The campus can accommodate more than 5000 students. SEBI has
invested Rs. 400 crore in the institute.
The main aim for establishing a new campus is to widen the NISM
activities and cater the demand of qualified securities market professionals.
The new campus is ready and would be inaugurated by Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th Dec’2016.
The institute would cater the demand of the qualified
securities market professionals, which is one of the major challenges faced by
the securities market in India today.
The demand of qualified securities market professionals is
quite high. Market needs professionals who are well informed, competent and
have knowledge of securities market.

NISM also conducts mandatory certification examinations.
