Continuing the rich tradition of observing various events of national and international importance, Sangam University celebrated the 64th Republic day of India with patriotic fervor, gaiety and enthusiasm. On 26th January 2013 which was blessed for a change with a pleasant weather, the faculty and students of the university assembled in the lush green lawns facing the administrative building.
Mr Anuj Moondra and Rajat Gandhi anchored the proceedings. The function started with the singing of Bankim Chandra's composition Vande Mataram by a group of faculty members comprising of Ms Seema Kabra, Ms Nidhi Bhatnagar, MS Poonam Maheshwari and Ms Kavita Gupta which was followed by hoisting of the tricolor by Sri Rampal Soni Chairman - Chancellor Sangam University Bhilwara.
After the playing of National Anthem, there was a march past by security personnel of the university led by Sri Samundhar Singh. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Sri Rampal Soni who is also the Chairman of Sangam Group of Industries which is one among the top ranking corporate in India today greeted the gathering and reiterated that educational transformation is the weapon with which economic and social transformation can take place in India for facing global challenges and urged the students to make the best of the facilities and faculty at "Where Aspiration Meets Opportunity" motto driven Sangam University. He also advised the students to focus on developing soft skills and aim for becoming entrepreneurs to generate jobs rather than being job seekers.
Dr Rakhi Goel recited a poem loaded with patriotism penned by her. Following a patriotic song sung by ITM - Sangam University students Miss Poonam Patwari and Kavita Jangir, the students from Sangam School of Excellence accompanied by their orchestra enthralled the audience with yet another mix of patriotic songs. The distinguished guests who were present included Smt Radha Devi Soni, Sri SN Modani Managing Director Sangam Group of Industries, Board members Mr Anurag Soni and Miss Antima Soni. The core team which organized the celebrations included faculty members Vineesh Agarwal, Archana Agarwal and Preeti Mehta.
Prof BR Natarajan President - Vice Chancellor Sangam University proposed vote of thanks and urged the students to remember the fundamental duties of a citizen stated in the Constitution along with the fundamental rights and advised them to take inspiration by reading the biography of Sri Rampal Soni "Threads of Destiny" by none other than bestselling author Chetan Bhagat and Jotica Sehgal.
