IILM Institute for Higher Education hosted its Founder's Day Lecture at Lodhi Road campus on April 3rd, 2012. The lecture was addressed by Prof Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia on "Conflict Conundrum: Distance, Difference and Inclusion" and also released IILM's new Journal for practising managers 'IILM Management Review'.
IILM Founder's Day is dedicated to the memory of the late Smt. Indira Gandhi. Welcoming the distinguished gathering, Prof Sapna Popli, Director and Executive Dean, IILM Institute for Higher Education, remarked, "This is a very special event in IILM calendar. This is the day when we celebrate the vision, leadership, exceptional achievements, and human qualities of the founder of the IILM group, Shri Kulwant Rai. His effort has been to develop students as responsible, socially sensitive, and globally aware members of society who are able to contribute towards international development and transmit the ever so rich and deep-rooted Indian values to the rest of the world. Everyone recognizes IILM as what it is today, because of his vision and guidance".
Prof Jung's address focussed on human sensitivity, caring for the world around us and sharing as the key contributors towards a more peaceful and inclusive world. He emphasised how 'differences' and 'exclusion' have been reasons for conflict for years from Kashmir to Naxalism to gender differentiation - all were weaved into his speech seamlessly, touching a chord with each one present in the audience.
Since 2005, IILM has organized Founder's Day lecture by distinguished leaders on important issues of concern such as Indian's future economic growth, The Meaning of Success and Ways of Achieving It, promoting a sustainable environment.
