It seems that the situation in government schools is never
going to change as despite the large claims by the government regarding quality
of education, teachers are preparing Class X students for board exams with the
help of 'passbooks' or textbook guides and completing the course for upcoming
final examinations. This was found out when Zila Pramukh Vandana Nogia with her
team inspected various government schools in nearby villages on Tuesday. Also,
many teachers remain absent from school without information and do not evaluate
the homework.
The inspection team further revealed that mid-day meal given
to students in school is not up to the mark. The computers provided so that
students can learn latest technology are not being used whereas the education
department claims that education of government schools is improving and they
are ready to compete with private schools.
According to Vandana, (Zila Pramukh), she found that teacher
Puran Gujjar and Santosh Hinoniya were absent from the school and there was no
reason given for their absence. Also, maths teacher, jyoti was teaching
students with a cheap guide without even making them understand the concept.
Vandana find all this while inspecting inspects the government senior secondary
school of Beer village.
Another senior secondary school at Jatia, it was found that
the teachers didn't evaluated homework and there was no teaching atmosphere.
The mid-day meal served was prepared against the norms with no ratio between
number of students and the meal prepared. All this was raised to the principal
by Vandana.
Further, the team found that in most schools teaching was
not up to the mark as teachers are not bothered about students learning. It
seemed like a formality and the course wasn't completed. The computer room is
not being used in many schools with computers looking like a waste.
As per an official,
during inspection they found that teachers are not using computers and they
were like waste while the state government had provided computers for students
as well as teachers so that teachers can prepare their lectures through
presentation. Vandana asked the principal to ensure that the course is
completed on time by organizing extra classes for students and that they get time
for revision.
Not only schools but gram panchayat had the same situation
as team found that the Atal Sewa Kendra and office of the gram panchayat were
locked. MGNERGA work at Madeli village has 120 workers listed but only 52 were
found on the spot.
