The incidents of question papers getting leaked are back again in the news. Recently, there was news regarding the class 12 Biology examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), that the papers have been leaked. Due to the news, it was postponed.
It's not the biology paper, according to Jyoti Kalita, the council's controller of examinations, the Physics paper, which also faced a similar case of leakage on February 24, will be held on March 17. The Biology paper is scheduled for March 19, at 9 am. The circulating copies of the Biology paper were allegedly 80 percent identical to the original question paper.
A committee was formed to look into the matter. It comprises of Laxmi Nath Tamuli, a retired IAS officer, and Jitaram Dutta, the former academic registrar of Gauhati University. The ordered CID probe took place on March 9, when a four-member team reached the Salt Brook Academy (SBA) in Dibrugarh to inspect the Biology paper-leak issue. It was found that the leaked paper had identical questions which had been scribbled on the walled boundary of a house near the school. The concerned authority was immediately informed, after which photographs of the place were sent across to the higher authorities.
The CID team has questioned a few students and officials on the matter, and a clarification is soon expected.
