Now B.Ed courses at Three Open Universities to benefit Disabled Children

To produce trained professional for teaching the children with learning disabilities now special Bed courses will be introduced in academic year 2015-16.Three state open universities will start the course.

The Rehabilitation Council of India is a statutory body that functions under the department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. This council is striving to develop train manpower with the help of its regular and distance programmes in universities. It will assist in meeting the that specific educational needs of the children suffering with learning disabilities.

Social Justice Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot said that it will assist in meeting the specific educational needs of the children suffering with learning disabilities.

Already the B.Ed Special Education (Learning Disability) course has been started by the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities through distance mode through open universities.

The Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Bhopal, Vardhmaan Mahaveer Open University, Kota and Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani, have been encouraged to support and take the responsibility of starting the course.

The categories of Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 include all the people are spastic, blind, physically handicapped, dyslexic and autistic.
