Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Printing and Stationery and Urban Local Bodies Manish Kumar Grover has directed for the provision of milk to the students as a part of midday meal.
To meet nutritional needs of school-going children this initiative has been introduced. In this, students in Classes 1 to VIII of all government schools will get 200 ml milk every day along with the mid-day meals. In an amazing decision for the students, it is announced that the milk would be prepared with different flavours such as chocolate and vanilla. This initiative is called as the 'Swaran Jayanti Bal Dudh Yojana'. It was unveiled by the minister in Chandigarh on Wednesday. On this occasion, Manish Kumar Grover said, "The department will prepare milk powder at the milk plants in Sirsa and Jind which would be supplied to all government schools. The scheme will be rolled out on November 1 in the entire state."
In another initiative, Chandigarh government has also launched SMS based monitoring systems in order to keep a check on the quality of the food that is provided to the students as a part of this midday meal. These schemes will commence from November 1, 2016. These initiatives will definitely help the underprivileged children in provision of quality of education and food as well.
