The meet, an international media colloquium, on Demystifying Crop Biotechnology met in last June at Hyderabad. It was jointlyconducted by the International Crop Research Institute for Semi-arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) and the International Services for the Acquisition and Application of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA).
The colloquium aimed to share challenges, issues and concerns related to crop biotechnology; enhance the appreciation and understanding of Asian Media Practitioners and researchers on crop biotechnology and share science stories for the Asian Media.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Ashwani Kumar in a written reply to a question by Shrimati Shruti Choudhary in Lok Sabha today.
