The education department of Maharashtra Government has asked the schools in the state to bring to the notice any error that they may find with respect to the reservation of school plots or the playgrounds in the 'draft Development Plan 2034'.
A member of the state's legislative council, Kapil Patil wrote a letter which was sent to all the schools by the office of education inspector. The letter said, "In this development plan, school managements are expected to register their complaints with the municipal commissioner if the school or its playground is not marked in the DP or the space has been reserved for something else. It is necessary to demand that the school's plot is reserved only for the school,"
According to Patil, he had personally received many complaints from the school management regarding this issue.
He said, "Over 50% city schools have lost space in the draft DP. If this is not rectified, they will have trouble developing their infrastructure in future," The school managements have been asked to send their representations on 22nd April.
