Kolkata: Kolkata based JIS University which has recently became the part of United Nations Academy will soon to be launching courses like pharmacy, media, and technology.
JIS University which is known for her traditional engineering courses is now move beyond and come up with the Aerospace engineering.
The private university is already offering courses in physics, chemistry, geology, biotechnology, management, hotel and hospitality management and law.
Professor B C Mal, vice chancellor of JIS University which had started his operations last year, said they will gradually move beyond traditional engineering courses to venture into areas like aerospace engineering.
"We will offer programs in applied sectors of science, technology, medicine and management. From the 2016-17 academic sessions we will roll out programs in pharmacy, education and media besides technology," Mal told reporters here.
On asking about the skill development he said skill development is very necessary for the integral development of an entrepreneur and that's why they have planned to make skill development an integral part of all undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.
JIS University which has recently got the membership of United Nations Academic Impact. And become one of the top 1000 university and institutions globally.
"Talks are on with many other American and European institutes for academic collaborations and mutual co-operation," the V.C said.
On collaboration front, JIS University has already tied-up with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok.
