Even after years of internal disturbances, the state of Jammu and Kashmir remains one of the most favored tourist destinations in the country.
To promote and build literary activities among students, Jammu and Kashmir's education minister Priya Sethi announced for building cultural clubs in schools and colleges.
She made this announcement while she discussed this with high level officials the solutions to how to promote cultural and literary activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Now schools will be having cultural clubs and heritage corners as directed by the ministers to the officers of education department. This would help in getting students attention towards the culture and heritage of the state which would further be carried by them to next generation.
With the above objective, state to witness talent hunt programmes so that talented youth can be groomed, stressed the minister.
Special awareness camps needs to be arranged across State which would generate awareness in the people about the events being organized by the departments, said the minister.
Minister further stated that this generation needs to connect with their roots, for this purpose, moral ethics need to be taught in schools.
She emphasized upon moral ethics as western world has captured the minds of young people forcing them to move away from their own culture.
The minister pointed that teachers have a role to play in making younger generation responsible citizens after they attain education, i.e. in building their future.
In order to make students aware about social issues, moral ethics lecture needs to be introduced in schools and colleges, said the minister.
Priya stated that education department, NGOs and cultural academy to work in coordination for arranging seminars and book festivals. This would further increase the importance of social issues and programmes like Beti Padao-Beti Bachao, Swachh Bharat Abhyan, Ladli Beti, and Aasra making students more familiar about these things.
Not only for students, Priya wants to train teachers as well as heads of institutions by arranging capacity building training programmes which would place importance on issues related to climate change, global warming, conservation of culture and heritage, natural resources like forests, water bodies.
