Training program 'Kashmir Super 40' initiated by the Indian Army for providing coaching to the youth of J&K has finally yielded good results when 26 boys and 2 girls cleared the JEE mains 2017.
These students have also performed excellently in other engineering exams of other colleges and hail from South Kashmir (9), North Kashmir (10), Kargil/Ladhak (7) and Jammu region (2).
About the scheme
- The scheme is sponsored under CSR initiative.
- It is sponsored by Patronet LNG
- Under this scheme, army select the students via entrance exam
- After selection Army provide students with free coaching and lodging facilities.
This year, a total of 11.8 lakh students appeared for the JEE mains exam out of which only 2.2 lakh were selected after the results were declared. These 2.2 lakh students have qualified for the second and final round of the JEE exam which is JEE Advanced.
Also, from now, instead of providing coaching to 40 students army will provide coaching to 50 students out which 5 will be girls.
