On Thursday, 'In-residence' program was hosted by the President Pranab Mukherjee in Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. The objective of this program was to organize a meet of scholars IITs, IISc and IISERs with the President.
The President said that about the main objective of organizing these 'In-residence' programs is to open up the President's residence to the common people who are capable of making the nation proud in certain areas. The people of India have every right to know about the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Through his message to the citizens, he recommended to be skilled and excel in their respective fields and to be innovative and creative. Similar 'In-residence' programs are hosted by the President for the writers, artists, grass root innovators, students from NIT's and teachers who have excelled in various fields.
In the meeting, thirteen scholars from various IITs, IISc and IISERs were felicitated. The President asked the young guns to give their individual contribution to the nation's progress and recommended them to work hard in order to keep innovating new technologies so that they repay the society and the nation. He complimented them as individuals who are blessed with intelligence and high level of talent with expertise and skills in their respective fields. These young lads were described as an inspiration to the generations and how they can emerge as leaders in the success of the nation.
"Engineers, scientists, doctors, lawyers and other professionals of India add to the growing pool of talent in India every year. And yet, there are much more that are raring to join them. The youth today are ambitious. They are willing to go the distance to fulfill their dreams. It is a sign of an aspirational India - of a nation that is finding its rightful place in the comity of nations." Omita Paul, Secretary of the President told the media.
