IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) would carry out faculty
recruitment drive across the world. The move comes to enhance the global ranking
of the institute and to engage highly qualified facilities.
“To ensure that the global ranking of the IITs improve, it
is important not only to have foreign students at the same time have
international faculty. We are planning to start the foreign recruitment drive
across the globe and the same would start from US from January” said the
Director IIT (D) V Ramagopal Rao.
The recruitment process will attract skilled persons from
foreign universities to teach in Indian campuses.
On Sunday the institute held its 47th Convocation.
Bharat Ratan CN Rao was the Chief Guest for the convocation. The instituted announced
increase in number of student for the PhDs. The same would go from 2500 to 5000
in the next three years. “The increase would be done in phases so that the
quality of R& D doesn’t suffer”. Added V Ramagopal Rao.
