For the Engineering aspirants across the country, today was a life changing event (atleast for those got the good news!). The final results of the JEE Advance 2016 were declared today. And like all years, all eyes were on Anand Kumar's Super 30!
And continuing his tradition, his students didn't disappoint! As many as 28 out of the 30 students studying under his guidance managed to clear the prestigious engineering exam. All his students come from extremely poor and disadvantaged backgrounds, making their achievement all the more significant.
According to a report published in the Times of India, Anand Kumar said, "I would have been happier had all the 30 students made it. But it cannot be always like that. I wish all the success to those who have not been able to make it. They will certainly excel in their chosen fields,"
The institute came into being in the year 2002 and has since managed to garner worldwide fame due to its astonishing results year after year.
The parents of most of the students who study at Super 30 are daily wage workers or vegetable vendors. Super 30 is a residential program which aims to train underprivileged kids to crack the prestigious IIT JEE exam. The program is entirely free of cost and is offered at Anand Kumar's home.
As per the report, Kumar said, "I feel for two others, who could not make it. They had also done a lot of hard work. Success or failure doesn't matter. I am confident, rest two will also get into good institutions to make a mark in life."
