The IILM Undergraduate Business School, Lodhi Road, hosted their annual convocation ceremony on the 19th of November. IILM has come a long way since the induction of its first batch in 1996, since then the institute has seen 14 glorious graduation ceremonies with over 1200 students graduated with flying colors as the collaboration enter its 17th year of successful partnership. This year our 120 students received the BSc (Hons) in Business & Management Studies from the School of Management University of Bradford.
Welcoming the esteemed guests, Ms. Sapna Popli, Director & Executive Dean, IILM said, "Our Vision 2015 is to be a leader in value based education and business focused research. Our focus is 'The Student'. Our endeavor is to provide exceptional student experience based on creative and inspirational teaching, knowledge and skills valued by the industry, research that flows into teaching and learning and proactive employer engagement in the region.
Ms. Popli also mentioned that the degree awarded by the University of Bradford in collaboration with IILM Undergraduate Business School received a formal status of equivalence with the undergraduate degrees awarded by the University of Delhi for the purpose of admission to higher studies at the Department of Commerce, Financial Studies, Management & Law. The IILM programme is of an equivalent standard to UK based awards and is certified both by the Quality Assurance Processes of the University of Bradford and is accredited externally by the UK Quality Assurance Agency, the QAA" .
Director Popli also mentioned "beyond the undergraduate program, IILM has stepped into executive education with its Advanced Management Program that was launched in February last year. The program has seen renowned professors from Columbia, Wharton and IIMs deliver modules successfully over the last year. IILM has also launched itself into customized blended learning programs for corporates with its first program with IBM, in 2009. IILM has completed 5 batches of more than 200 executives from IBM graduating with the Foundations in Management Program designed and offered by IILM for IBM. Last year IILM has also been approved as a standard service provider for all IBM locations."
Mrs. Sue Kershaw, Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Bradford, delivered the Graduation Address after the outgoing batch received their degrees. Prof. Sarah Dixon, Dean, School of Management, University of Bradford also addressed the gathering. Mrs. Malvika Rai, Chairperson IILM, presented the Dr. Kulwant Rai Gold and Silver medals to the toppers. The Graduands tossed their head-gears up in the air, marking the event with exuberance and a sentiment of joy, signifying their transition from 'Student' to a 'Professional'. It was a cherished day for all at IILM, immortalised in its collective memory. This day shall be remembered by all at IILM.
