British Council in partnership with Devi Art Foundation and Gati Dance Forum, presented an exciting opportunity to gain an insight into the work of Hofesh Shechter. His unique style of choreography, infused with honesty and raw physicality has won Hofesh and his Company world-wide acclaim. The master class was attended by professional dancers. The master class was followed by an interactive lecture demonstration, open to all, and included members of Hofesh Shechter Company demonstrating the intense movement and the dance vocabulary of Hofesh’s work. The India Director for Arts, British Council - Mr. Vivek Mansukhani hosted the lecture demonstration and held a conversation with Hofesh Shechter to gain an insight into the choreographer’s mind regarding the creative processes, choreographic inspirations. This was the first interactions of the choreographer with the Indian audiences.
