The newly elected Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar made a significant announcement yesterday. According to him, the state would work towards developing the Universities in the state as 'centres of excellence'.
This announcement came as a part of the CM's address to the teachers on the occasion of the inauguration of the administration block in the 'Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Govt College', located in Rohtak. The teachers were also asked to submit suggestions to put the state's education back on track. Referring to the lack of opportunities available for the meritorious students, he said that "No one should be deprived of education due to adverse family circumstances". Underlining the role of teachers in nation building, he called them the 'helmsmen of the nation'.
He called upon the teachers to play a more active role in the society and shape future generations with their wisdom. He said that no one can imbibe the much needed self confidence in the youth, better than the teachers themselves.
Talking about the National Education Policy implemented by the Central Government, the CM quoted that "...schemes will be formulated to provide quality education to the youth... Apart from that, programmes like Shramev Jayate and Make in India have been started to provide adequate employment opportunities to the youth,"
