The annual convocation ceremony of IILM Institute for Higher Education Lodhi Road, New Delhi and Gurgaon, was held on May 11th, 2012. Mr. Hari Bhartia, Co-Chairman & MD, Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd, presided over the convocation and awarded Certificates of Merit to the students. More than 3500 students have so far have been awarded the diploma in Business Management all of whom have been placed comfortably despite the economic fluctuation.
Mr. Bhartia is a national and global leader whose business interests are diversified into a range of areas that span life sciences, oil and gas, agri-inputs, performance polymers, food service, retail, as well as consulting in aerospace and oilfield services. He is equally interested in five critical areas that are also important to us as an Institute: education, skill development, employability, innovation and entrepreneurship. His interests in these areas saw his Presidency of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) two years back adopt the theme: Business for Livelihood that won rich recognition both within the government and in business circles.
Mr. Hari Bhartia delivered the Convocation Address and congratulated the outgoing students after they received their diplomas. Mrs. Malvika Rai, Chairperson, IILM Institute for Higher Education, presented Dr. Kulwant Rai Gold and Silver medals to the meritorious students as well as to the overall performers.
Sapna Popli, Director & Executive Dean, IILM Institute for Higher Education said, "Our aim in the last two years has been to maximize the learning value-add in the time that the student spends with us, both in class and outside class through a strong student-faculty bonding. We have made efforts to engage industry more actively in the program by means of visiting professors from industry, curriculum seminars and adding a number of our alumni & recruiters on our board. The curriculum for the current batch has been developed on an integrated organizational perspective orienting students towards an organizational setup from day one. We still have a long way to go to make this structure & philosophy imbibed by our people, and embedded in our processes and systems across campuses".
The PGP 2010-2012 batch has been placed in companies like Citi Bank, HDFC, ICICI, Edelweiss, Grail Research, Ernst and Young, Nestle and ITC Ltd to name a few. The highest package for the batch has been Rs. 11 Lakhs per annum and close to 370 companies have engaged for recruitment of students this year.
