The information brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 has been released on the official website of the GATE -- gate.iitd.ac.in. The information brochure consists of the details about the exam pattern, marking scheme, syllabus, sample question papers, cut-off and other important information about the examinations.
GATE 2020 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020. The exam will be conducted in two shifts -- 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

GATE 2020: Exam pattern
The exam will be held in 24 subjects including Aerospace, engineering, architecture and planning, chemical engineering, biotechnology, etc.
The exam will be held in computer-based mode and will have MCQ type questions
Number of questions: 65
Total marks: 100
Total time: 3 hours
Eligibility criteria for appearing in GATE 2020
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ technology
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture
- Bachelor's degree in four years program in science (BSc)
- Master's degree in any branch of science/ maths/statistics/computer applications
- Four years integrated master's degree in Engineering/Technology
- Five years of integrated master's degree or dual degree in engineering/ technology
About GATE exam
The exam is conducted for admissions into post-graduate programs offered by the Indian institutes of higher education with financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and other government agencies.
