The placement season of The Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University concluded recently where 217 students received 236 offers. Companies like Amazon, Makemytrip, Snapdeal and others recruited in large numbers. The companies that recruited for the first time were CarTrade, Housing, Magicbricks, PayTM, Shopclues, Snapdeal and others.
With the number of offers increasing to five times last five year's figure, the e-commerce sector was a significant recruiter.
Indicating an Increase from Rs 19 lakh to Rs 20.46 lakh, the average cost to company is Rs 17.04 lakh per annum, the report of the placement offers of the FMS boasts the pay package for the top 50 % students of the class. An offer worth Rs 35 lakh was the highest offer from a consulting firm. There has been an increase in companies from consulting and general management this time.
25% students in the sector for the summer recruitment have received Pre placement offers and there were 60 PPOs this year with an increase of 58% in comparison to the last year.
The statement says that 'Offers from The Boston Consulting Group, Accenture Strategy and Deloitte USI combined more than doubled, increasing from 11 to 24'. The highest number of offers was made by Accenture Strategy and Deloitte USI(S&O) that number 11 and 10 respectively.
Offers from the finance sector were over 40, placing the students in Citibank, Deutsche bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and others as well.
