The Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar said “that
the government is planning to set up a fishery institute in Hissar”. CM was
speaking while laying the foundation stone of the new campus of Lala Lajpat Rai
University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
The Chief Minister said “that Haryana Government would establish
fishery Science College in Lala Lajpat Rai University, and this will provide
employment opportunities to the youth”.
The Chief Minister also said that “the government has
provided 1,125 acres of land for the new campus of Lala Lajpat Rai University”.
“Livestock is as important as human life, the same should be
promoted”, he added.
A new livestock centre would be established in the Keorak
village of Karnal District soon. All these measures are being taken to double
the income of the farmers.
The Chief Minister requested the researchers to work towards
increasing the milk productivity of the state. He also appreciated the work being
done by the university in the field of increasing the milk productivity.
Lala Lajpat Rai University had developed ‘Hardhenu’ breed of
cow which gives 35-40 Lts. of milk per day.
