The exam centers list for the UP board 2018 exams has been released by the board and this year the board has increased the number of examinees in order to prevent the cheating and for the same reason the number of centers for exam have been reduced to 128 from 133.
An UP board official said "the board has introduced stringent norms and therefore only those exam centers have been allocated that have facilities like big rooms."
For the first time the allotment of the centers for the exams has been done by the board in online mode in order to bring the transparency in the system. A total of 34 new schools have been finalized.
A report by TOI said "among the criteria to select an exam center includes the capacity of classrooms, CCTV cameras, almirahs to store question papers, fire extinguisher, connectivity of school with the main road, regular power supply, availability of generator set, CCTV cameras in all classrooms, facility of drinking water and toilets and computer system".
A total of 37,12,508 students from class 10 are expected to appear and 30,17,032 students from class 12 are expected to appear for this year's exam.
