In the upcoming exam of the CBSE NET, some changes, in the eligibility criteria have been introduced by the University Grants Commission.
According to the reports from Hindustan Time, following the mentioned changes introduced by the UGC:
Reserved category candidates, who earlier used to qualify with the 15 percent, will now be considered at 6 percent.
UGC is also, expected to introduce some changes in the rules which give preference to the candidates of the reserved category in the minimum cut-off list over the candidates from unreserved category.
The registrations for the much awaited NET exam will began on August 1 and conclude on August 30.
Important dates regarding the exam:
- Official notification will be released on July 24
- Online registrations will began on August 1
- Last date for the application registration August 30
- Last date for the payment of fee August 31
- Exam date November 19

University Grants Commission was established by the Indian government in 1956 and its main objective is to provide recognition to Indian Universities and provide such recognized universities with the funds.On behalf of UGC, CBSE conducts this exam for the post of Lecturer and for providing JRF (Junior Research Fellow) for Indian National. The exam ensures the minimum quality standard for the lectures and JRFs.
