The news of the release of the third cutoff list for major colleges comes as a ray of hope for all the aspirants who failed to secure a seat in various colleges of the nation's prestigious Delhi University (DU) that a third cutoff list is likely to be announced by many colleges.
After the soaring high cutoffs released by various colleges, students were tensed about securing a seat in the choice of the course and college. Now, as the third cutoff is likely to be announced then, the students had a sigh of relief as they still get a chance to secure admissions.
Principal Gyantosh K Jha said, "Most of the courses are likely to remain open for admission at our college. However, what will be the dip will depend on admissions done on Friday."
According to the official sources, Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), the college has filled around 280 seats out of the 730 total seats. The university will announce a third cutoff list for filling the remaining seats. At Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) college, a total of 1,179 seats is there, whereas, after 12 withdrawals, only 196 seats are filled. In Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) has filled 540 seats out of total 674 seats. Hansraj College, out of the total 1,165 only 563 seats have been filled. At Ram Lal Anand (RLA) College, out of the total over 600 seats, only 145 admissions have been done.
"There is still one day left for admissions under the second list, but even after that the college is likely to come out with a third cutoff list for most of the subjects," said an LSR official. It is mentioned that DU will only announce five cutoff lists for admissions.
