Dr. T.G. Prabhashankar 'Premi' humbly announced that Vikramshila Hindi Vidyapeet has awarded him with the prestigious 'Vidya Sagar Honorary Doctorate' in Hindi, at the Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Awarded by Vikramshila Hindi Vidyapeet's academic council on 13th December 2014, he was chosen for his years of unparallel contribution towards advancement of the country's official language, Hindi, along with his major contributions to the fields of research, arts and literature.
Dr. Prabhashankar has retired from the Bangalore University where he was working as a professor in Hindi. Carrying an experience of 45 years in the field of Hindi literature, he has more than 60 Hindi and Kannada books to his credit as the author. At present, he is the Chief Editor of Basava Marg Hindi quarterly.
He was also a part of the renowned Kendriya Hindi Samiti, which was chaired by Dr. Manmohan Singh. He was one of the members of the PM delegation at the 8th World Hindi conference in 2007 in New York and the 9th edition in 2012 at Johannesburg.
Apart from this, he was on the Hindi advisory boards of Ministry of Law, Planning, Atomic Energy and ISRO.

- Non-Hindi writer award from Central Hindi Directorate (for his book 'Hindi Kannada Sahitya Sampada)
