With the CBSE declaring the class XII results today, it is a day that a number of students would remember for all their lives. And none would relish and remember this day more than the Delhi girl Sukriti Gupta who scored the highest marks in the entire country "“ a whopping 497 out of 500!
As has been the trend all through the years, the pass percentage among the girls was higher than the boys. While the girls recorded a pass percentage of 88.58%, the pass percentage among the boys was 78.85%.
Sukriti, all India CBSE topper belongs to the Montford School in the National capital. The second and third positions across the country were also occupied by girls.
According to a report published in the Times of India, she said, "I relied on self study and followed NCERT books while preparing for exams. You need to get your basics right and then the rest is not that hard to crack. I have been consistent throughout and that helped me to emerge as a topper. I did not expect this, though I was sure that I would do well. This is beyond my expectations."

Among the regions, the overall first and second ranks were taken by Thiruvanathapuram and Chennai respectively. The overall pass percentage recorded across the country was 83.05% as compared to last year's 82%.
The Board would provide the marksheet in the respective DigiLockers of the students that can be accessed at www.digilocker.gov.in.
