For the second time, the UP government has extended the deadline for the Madrassas to register themselves on the official website of the government, as official of the government said. Earlier, the deadline decided by the government was 15 September but due to some technical issues the deadline was extended up to September 30.
“The last date for registration of madrassas was September 30, which has been extended by 15 days,” Registrar UP Madrassa Education Board Rahul Gupta said.
He said that out of 19000 madrassas in the state, so far, 13,053 have registered themselves on the website.
The website was launched by the UP government on August 18 and orders were issued to all madrassas of the state to upload all the relevant information related to the managing committee of the madrassas, teachers, students and other information by September 15.
The main aim of the government behind this move is to keep a check on irregularities in the Madrassas and to bring the qualitative improvement in the Islamic institutions. 560 Madrassas of the state are fully funded while the rest 4600 are partially funded by the government.
