The admission process for the Bachelor Preparatory Program (BPP) has been announced by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). For the first time BPP is being provided through Common Service Centers (CSCs) across the country.
BPP is a non-formal education channel and is a popular course among the students who aspire for higher education but cannot pursue the same. The program aims to fix the eligibility route to the Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor in Social Work and Bachelor in Tourism Studies.
“The program is meant for those students who do not have the essential qualifications of 10+2. In the absence of such a qualifying certificate, these students are deprived of higher education,” says BPP program coordinator Subhas Shetgovekar.
The admission process for the BPP has commenced and under the program there are 136 courses which are available online and 11 programs which are available offline. The program takes care of the needs of all students as it is delivered in nine regional languages including English, Oriya, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam and Guarati. The duration of the course varies from six months to two years.
