"Innovation is the real way of achieving prosperity in country which can be achieved by letting young minds think out of box," said Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar. He said this when he was addressing the students at KPIT Sparkle 2017 event.
"We want to change this all and that is why we are bringing innovation as prime theme education, especially in higher education, and that is the policy of the Narendra Modi government," Javadekar said.
During the event Javadekar also said that certain organizations have become bureaucratic and such approach cannot lead to research based culture as such culture demands freedom.
He further said "In order to bring the best of the best talent back to India, government has come up with Global Research Innovation Network."
The contest received entries from over 10,500 engineering and science students and top 35 teams made it to the grand finale with their prototype solutions for the Smart Cities.Of all the contestants the winner team was from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (Team Humanoids) for their project which controls emission of exhaust gas using the plasma technology. As a result there is less consumption of electric power and in the process no harmful gases gets released from the exhaust.
Many other dignities were also present at the event and some of them are Padmashree Dr. Kiran Karnik, Former President, NASSCOM, Ravi Pandit, Co-founder, Chairman & Group CEO, KPIT, Dr Raghunath Mashelkar Chairman of the Innovation Committee, KPIT.
