From March 1st, CBSE Class 12 board exams have started. The
first paper was of English (English Elective/English Elective-C/ English Core)
and attendance registered for it was around 10 lakh. Due to the exam, schools
were heavily jammed due to traffic, with parents and relatives accompanying
students to the examination centres around 9.30 am.
The exam was of three hours from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. There
was excitement and nervousness among students and parents.
The question paper was distributed at 10.15 so, that
students can read it for 15 minutes carefully before attempting it.
The English (Elective) -C paper was of total 100 marks. The
paper was divided into the following three sections:
Section A: Reading (20 marks)
Section B: Writing and Grammar (40 marks)
Section C: Literature (40 marks)
It was observed that the writing section was lengthy as it
had advertisement writing, notice writing, letter writing, error correction,
etc. Although the paper was easy, students felt that the writing section, which
included notice writing, applications, letter writing etc consumed most of the
time.
The overall paper was easy as almost every student was happy
with the paper. Every question that came was from the syllabus itself and there
was nothing in the paper which one could not understand or attempt
As per a student of class 12th, Mansi Bahukhandi, overall
English paper was easy as syllabus of the paper was such that nothing was left
out and every topic was well-covered. The intervals between two papers are
sufficient enough and students have enough time for revision. The examination
for the main subjects will begin from Wednesday for Class 12 students.
