The class 10th students of Odisha board may not like this news very much since their entire schedule would go for a toss due to the upcoming panchayat elections in the state. Instances like these give rise to calls that the government is undermining the importance of education.
Owing to the elections scheduled for the month of February, 2017, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha might not conduct the class 10 examination in February 2017.
BSE President Sushant Das mentioned in a report published in Press Trust of India (PTI), "In view of the ensuing panchayat elections likely in February 2017, we will not be in a position to conduct the matriculation examination around the same time."
Last year, the matriculation examination was conducted from February 22 to March 4 at 2,822 centers. More than 6,01,348 candidates had written the examination last year.
February and March are the months in which the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha conducts the examination every year with the results being declared in the month of April.
