The application form for the much awaited National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 has not been released by the concerned authority, CBSE, yet and more delay is expected in the same.
The exam for the NET is conducted bi-annually in the months of June and December but since last year the exam is being conducted by the CBSE in the months of July and January. For the July exam, last year, the form was released on April 12.
Central Board of Secondary Education is responsible authority on behalf of the University Grants Commission for conducting the NET exam across the nation. The main purpose of the exam is to determine the number of eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship across the nation. According to few reports, the notification for the 2017 NET is expected to be out by June 20.
PhD not possible without NET
Recently, UGC uploaded a new draft of regulations on its official website according to which the getting admissions into PhD is now tougher than before as category III institutes will now not be able to enroll the candidates for the PhD program unless they have qualified NET or SLET or SET exams.
