Brickwork Finance Academy offers Corporate Risk Management session at its campus in Kalena Agrahara, Bannerghatta Road.
"If you can't manage risk, you can't control it. And if you can't control it you can't manage it. That means you are just gambling and hoping to get lucky."
J. Hooten
The financial crisis of 2008 that hit all major world economies is a classic example of poor risk management focus of organizations all over the world. This crisis compelled governments, regulators and corporation to rethink the risk management policies that they had adopted in the past. Even in India, a number of companies lost crores of rupees while using exotic derivatives. A few companies lost most of their net-worth and such losses resulted in a large number of court cases and litigation.
Corporate Risk Management today has become an integral part of corporate strategy and firms are focused on effectiveness of risk management tools and techniques and are working towards creating "Risk Intelligent" organizations. In light of the growing need to understand corporate risk management, Brickwork Finance Academy plans to conduct sessions on the topic in the months of October and November 2012. The sessions are part of promoting financial literacy and discussions amongst interested professionals.
