By promising to convert the challenges into
opportunities, former Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar took charge of the
Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry. He stated that improving the quality
of education in the nation is the 'biggest challenge' for him.
The major cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Tuesday resulted into Javadekar to take control of the HRD ministry
which was earlier headed by Smriti Irani who is now shunted out to handle the
Textiles Ministry. In first statement after being appointed as the new Human
Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Prakash Javadekar called himself 'a
product of student agitation' and said "protests across university campuses can
be resolved through dialogue and consensus."
"Education provides meaning and value to
life. The biggest challenge today is to improve the quality of education. Every
parent work hard to send their children to school. Their only desire is that
the children should get quality education," Javadekar said. "Our job
is to provide quality education and I'm hopeful that we will achieve it with
the support of everyone. Modi Ji has a vision about education and we will work
towards it. "Education is a national agenda and it touches every house and
heart. Poor parents do more exertion to give good education to their children
because they know that education only can bring transformation and that's what
we want to achieve," Javadekar added as he spoke to the media present.
The
nation has now it's expectations tied up to the new minister as he promises to
convert the challenges into opportunities. Everyone hopes that things work out
in favor and quality of education of the nation matches the global standards.
