The private schools are very expensive and also ignorant of the rules of the payment of the salaries of the teachers.
Subsequent to this the Assam government has been inspired to enforce a special act to control the activities of these private schools.
Sarat Borkotoky, the education minister responded to this query that was put forward by AGP MLA Keshab Mahanta in the question of the hour.
The schools do not follow the rules prepared regarding the building, land, safety, fees structure and the salaries of the teachers.
The education minister intends to have a word with the chief minister to improve the situation by putting in force a special act.
Also these schools make no cognizance of the communication made by the ministers.
Even the basic requirements, like the appointing only the B.Ed Qualified teachers is not followed.
There are about 1,167 private schools in the state (These do not include play schools). Also 420 private junior colleges are located in the state.
