ASM Group of Institutes, Chinchwad, Pune and Employment & Self Employment Guidance Centre of the Government of Maharashtra organised a mega job fair on September 30. There was an overwhelming response to the fair organised at the ASM's IBMR campus in Chinchwad with nearly 7,500 job seekers seeking better opportunities.
The fair was inaugurated by Dr. Santosh Bhave, VP-HR, Bharat Forge in the presence of Mr. Uday Kumar Choube, DGM-HR, Volkswagen, Mr. S.B.Angane, Dy. Director, Pune Region & Mr. U.S. Kulkarni, Employment Officer-Employment & Self Employment Guidance Centre, Government of Maharashtra, Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman & Dr. Asha Pachpande, Secretary-ASM Group of Institutes.
More than 60 leading companies were present in the job fair. Mr. Angane who spoke on the occasion said that inspite of availability of variety of jobs the unemployment is on the rise which is a cause of concern. He further mentioned that while the industry is ready to offer jobs & there is ample supply of manpower also. The gap can be filled by better industry academia interface. The educational institutes can offer job oriented courses so that prospective employees do not need to run searching for jobs.
Dr. Bhave added that today's young generation has the ability to adapt change according to the environment & they need not feel sorry if today they do not find job of their choice. The need of the hour is to be ready to accept the changing requirements of future.
Mr. Choube said that earlier campus was the only planned recruitment activity but today these job fairs offer variety of jobs at one place. He cautioned that not getting selected in a company should not be seen as a failure but it is just being unable to fulfill the company's current requirement at a particular time. The job seeker should learn from own & mistakes of others to prepare for a better future.
