Recently, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) awarded 11
innovative projects that solved social and technical problems on 5th Annual
Sankuls Day at Paryavaran Mandir recently.
The projects which received awards were- Team of Babaria
Institute of Pharmacy, Vadodara, which got the award for a novel carrier system
targeted at drug delivery for arthritis treatment. Team of LJ Institute of
Engineering & Technology and Sal College of Engineering received the award
for 'Salamat Matrutva' project. The project is aimed at prevention of infant
mortality and will be used in rural areas of Sabarkantha and Ahmedabad
districts.
For Careerkhojj project, Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidhyalay, VV
Nagar was awarded. It is believed to be used in 20 countries as its beneficial
to around 10000 students.
There is a category which has received 300 entries, known as
The Pedagogic Innovation Awards which will be awarded at a later stage.
The main objective of
GTU Innovation Council is to recognize innovative projects of students across
GTU-affiliated colleges in Engineering, Polytechnic, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and
others, that's why it declared GIC i2i (Innovate to Impact) Award 2016.for those
projects of students which have been beneficial in solving an important social,
technological problem faced by masses or disadvantaged people/sectors/spaces or
micro and small enterprises or have the potential to impact a pressing national
need, to nominate themselves for the award. Not only of this year but student
innovations of past three years are awarded under this category.
