The student movement has been picking up across the country. Be it the students at FTII or CET, all are out to make their voices heard. The students of College of Engineering (CET), Thiruvananthapuram, led a symbolic strike to request augmentation of working hours of the library and check in time timings of the young ladies' lodging. In a charged move to attack the progressing 'Break the Curfew' battle, the CET powers as of late give the ax the timings of the library, which had been working till 8pm to 5pm.
On Wednesday, CET powers held a meeting with students and delegates of library staff and it was chosen that the library would keep on working till 8pm for the following two weeks. CET powers guaranteed that they would show the issue in the PTA official panel meeting meanwhile to get assent for arrival of trust. The library staff is given remittance from CET's own store for working for extra hours, which is from 5pm to 8pm. SFI individuals led a token perusing strike by perusing in the library till 8pm as the choice was not last. The detainees of the young lady's inn down and out the time limitation by staying out of lodging till 9pm.
A student revealed that regardless of the fact that they get positive reaction on the issue of library timings, they would proceed with the strike till they get affirmation on augmentation of inn timings.
In the interim, the issue of inn and library surfaced in the Assembly on Wednesday. MLAs MA Baby and R Rajesh introduced the issue in the Assembly amid the exchange on Kerala Technical University. After young lady students of CET started 'Break the Curfew' battle, the powers are attempting all approaches to keep the augmentation of timings.
