For admissions to three years full time Master of Computer Application (MCA) and two years lateral entry to MCA programmes for the academic session 2016, B-CAT is organized by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU), Pune and the official date for exam has been announced. This year the exam is to be conducted on February 28, 2016.
Its eligibility criteria is as follows-
Candidates interested in doing MCA must have done graduation (minimum three years) with maths being their subject at Class 12th or at degree level. The degree must have been achieved with minimum 50 % (In case of SC/ST category, it needs to be 45%).
For students being interested in lateral entry to MCA must have a graduation degree with three years minimum in BCA, BCS, B. Sc (IT/Computer Science). The second condition being the same, i.e. maths as a subject at Class 12th or at degree level. The degree must have been achieved with minimum 50 % (In case of SC/ST category, it needs to be 45%).
The paper pattern is simple with 200 total multiple choice questions (MCQs). These will be of one mark each with four options. The good news is there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The questions will be asked from following areas-
Mathematics at Class 10 level: 50 marks
Mathematics at Class 12 level: 50 marks
Logical and Abstract Reasoning: 40 marks
Fundamentals of Information Technology: 20 marks
C Language concepts: 40 marks
In order to apply, one needs to send a filled application form to ' Admission Office, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, L.B.S. Marg,Pune 411030' along with fees.
As the B-CAT will be held on Feb 28, 2016, last date for sending form is February 20, 2016. The results will be out on March 14, 2016.
